  1. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon until it is crispy, about 5 to 7 minutes. Make sure to turn the slices occasionally to ensure even cooking and to prevent burning. Once done, remove the bacon and let it drain on a paper towel.
  2. While the bacon is cooking, slice the bagels in half. Toast them lightly until golden brown, either in a toaster or under the broiler for about 2-3 minutes.
  3. Spread 1 tablespoon of mayonnaise on each bagel half. On the bottom half, layer the crispy bacon, followed by the sliced tomatoes, and then add the lettuce.
  4. If using, add avocado slices, cheese, or red onions for extra flavor. Cover with the top half of the bagel, pressing down gently.
  5. Cut the sandwich in half and serve immediately, with optional side items like potato chips or a fresh salad.
