Description
This easy cinnamon apple dessert is not only delicious but also incredibly simple to make. The combination of fresh apples, rich butter, and sweet cinnamon creates a dish that can be served as a decadent dessert or a delightful topping for pancakes and ice cream.
Ingredients
Scale:
4 medium-sized apples (such as Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg (optional)
1 tablespoon lemon juice
Pinch of salt
Instructions
Wash and peel the apples. Core and slice them into thin wedges, about 1/4 inch thick. Drizzle with lemon juice to prevent browning.
In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
Carefully add the apple slices to the skillet and stir to coat them in the melted butter.
Sprinkle the brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg (if using), and a pinch of salt over the apples. Cook for 5-7 minutes until tender and coated in caramel sauce.
Remove from heat and serve warm, either on their own or over ice cream or pancakes.
